About WishNear

WishNear is a place to share what you wish existed around you — a late-night place, a good pediatric dentist, a toddler play space for rainy days — and to discover what other people nearby are wishing for too.

Think of it as a collective wishlist for your neighborhood. Individual wishes become visible demand signals that can help local businesses, planners, and neighbors spot what's actually needed.

1. Tap the + button to post a wish. Add text, pick your area, and you're done — usually in under 5 seconds.
2. Browse wishes in the Feed or on the Map. Tap 👍 on any wish you agree with — every vote makes the signal stronger.
3. Tap any wish's 📍 location to jump to the map focused on that neighborhood and see everything people are asking for there.

• No accounts. No signup, no email, no password. You're anonymous the moment you open the app.
• No exact location.When you post a wish, we snap your coordinates to a neighborhood grid (~500 m cells) before storing anything. Your precise position is never saved on our servers.
• No tracking. We don't use cookies for analytics, we don't share data with anyone, and we don't have ads.
• Only what's needed. The only thing we store tied to you is a random device id so we can prevent double-voting. It's not linked to your real identity.

WishNear is for families and neighbors. Keep it constructive and respectful — name what you want, not who you don't like. We automatically filter profanity and hate speech, but community tone is everyone's job.
